Details
This particular wine is an impressive accomplishment, a wine that is both serious and fun. With an absolutely exotic nose, a deceptively easy drinkability, and a surprisingly and satisfyingly non-cloying finish, it nearly always inspires a double-take. Its 23 g/l of residual sugar are so well-balanced by its acidity that the wine comes off as no sweeter than an extra-dry Prosecco, and possibly even more refreshing. The blend of grapes is unique: 70% Merlot and 30% Incrocio Manzoni, also known as Moscato d'Amburgo, an extremely rare cross of Raboso and Moscato. This wine has been difficult for us to keep in stock because we continually have underestimated what its popularity would be -but we see that it works equally well with the Thanksgiving meal, as a Valentines Day toast, for sipping at a backyard barbeque, and, we think, as the ideal bottle to accompany wedding cake (it is truly a shame all the Brut Champagne that is wasted every year on wedding cake!) - in other words, we have seen this very quickly becoming a year-round staple.
